Side effects of Sildenafil
When people develop Kamagra (sildenafil citrate) side effects, the symptoms are usually minor. This means that they require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. In previous studies, up to 2.5% of people taking sildenafil citrate stopped taking their medicine due to side effects.
Common Side Effects of Kamagra
Sildenafil citrate has been extensively studied in clinical trials, with over 3,700 people having been evaluated. In these studies, side effects were always documented. As such, it was possible to analyze what side effects occurred, how often they occurred, and how they compared to groups not taking the medicine (control groups).
Based on these studies, common Kamagra side effects (occurring in over 2% of patients) among those patients experiencing side effects included:
- Headache – 16%
- Facial flushing – 10%
- Indigestion, known as dyspepsia – 7%
- Nasal congestion – 4%
- Urinary tract Infections (UTI) – 3%
- Vision problems, including trouble telling the difference between blue and green, increased sensitivity to light, or blurred vision – 3%
- Diarrhea – 3%
- Dizziness – 2%
- Unexplained rash – 2%
Some other common side effects (seen in over 2% of patients) which were equally common in patients taking a placebo (sugar pill) instead of sildenafil include:
- Respiratory tract infections
- Back pain
- Flu-like symptoms
- Joint pain.
Rare Side Effects
During clinical studies, some other side effects occurred in less than 2 percent of people while they were taking sildenafil citrate. It is difficult to determine whether sildenafil citrate caused these side effects or not.
Some of these possible side effects include, but are not limited to:
- Allergic reactions
- Angina pectoris
- Temporary vision loss
- Congestive heart failure
- Dry mouth
- A sudden decrease in or loss of hearing
- Prolonged erection without pain
- Prolonged, painful erection (priapism)
